Our Commitment
We at RJ Design are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse with the same level of ease as any other visitor. This is achieved through thoughtful design, system capabilities, and compatibility with assistive technologies like screen readers.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
To ensure our international reach (including South Africa, the US, and the EU) complies with global best practices, we have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines at the AA Level.
As a graphic design portfolio, we have prioritized the following adjustments:
-
Accessibility Wizard: Utilized Wix’s specialized tools to identify and resolve structural and technical accessibility issues.
-
Visual Hierarchy: Defined clear heading structures (H1, H2, H3) so screen readers can navigate projects and sections intuitively.
-
Alt Text: Added descriptive alternative text to portfolio images so that the visual nature of the design work can be understood by all visitors.
-
Contrast & Color: Implemented color combinations that meet required contrast ratios to ensure all text and interface elements are legible.
-
Keyboard Navigation: We are continuously optimizing the site to ensure that interactive elements and menus are fully reachable and functional via keyboard.
-
Motion Control: While we use creative visual effects (such as interactive cursor elements), we aim to respect "Reduced Motion" system settings where possible to prevent vestibulary distress for sensitive users.
We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also implemented the specific structural, visual, and technical improvements listed above to provide a professional and inclusive experience for all international visitors.
